Kiara Advani On Her Lookalike Aishwarya Singh: ‘I Don’t Really Like The Word Doppelganger’
The internet recently found a doppelganger of Kiara Advani's, Delhi-based dentist-cum-influencer Aishwarya Singh, who has taken the internet by storm with her looks. In an Instagram reel with over 7 lakh views, where Aishwarya imitates Kiara's Dimple from Shershaah, it’s difficult to distinguish between the two. The uncanny resemblance left the fans awestruck and the actor also once acknowledged the similarities between them.

But Kiara maintains the word 'doppelganger' can be flattering for her, but it takes away from Aishwarya's personality. In an interview with ETimes, Kiara spoke about her reaction to Aishwarya's post when she saw the video. “So Aishwarya, I had actually seen her recreate a Dimple (Dimple Cheema, Kiara’s character from Shershaah) look and put it up on Instagram. And I think I was tagged in it, which is why I went and saw the post and even commented on it. She did a really great job with the way she recreated the look. And then this morning, like everyone else I got the forward,” she said.

“But you know I don’t really like the word doppelganger. I know what she’s doing is flattering, but what’s interesting to me is that she’s a doctor in real life. She’s her own personality and it’s very sweet that she likes to recreate my looks. I’ve been told in the past that I look like someone and that’s great, but at the end of the day, you have to be the person who you really are,” Kiara added.

In a previous interview, Aishwarya had said that meeting Kiara would be a ‘dream come true.’ She added that she is happy that people recognise her from a viral video.

Meanwhile, model and social media influencer Alina Rai, who made headlines for having an uncanny resemblance to actress Katrina Kaif, also said she does not like the word doppelganger. In an interview, she expressed her discomfort with the word doppelganger and asserted that she has a lot to offer as an individual and that she should not be judged purely on the basis of her appearance.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, Alina Rai said, “I did not figure out any similarity (then) and still have not figured it! We are both individuals with our own individuality and personalities. I’m sure with more time, people will be able to respect that.”
